EnOcean Alliance Members to Demonstrate Groundbreaking Advances in Wireless, Energy Harvesting HVAC Solutions at AHR Expo 2012 in Chicago

Includes Three “World’s First” Product Announcements

The EnOcean Alliance, a leading consortium of companies working to standardize and internationalize energy harvesting wireless technology for green intelligent buildings, announced today that this year’s AHR Expo in Chicago, Jan. 23-25, will include 30 EnOcean Alliance members showcasing the latest energy harvesting, wireless solutions for HVAC applications. EnOcean Alliance, located in booth S3764, will be hosting innovative solutions developed by Leviton, BSC Software, Echoflex, Magnum Energy Solutions, Alps Controls, Ecologix, Titus, Marlow and Kieback & Peter. Several other EnOcean Alliance members will be displaying their products, including two of its newest members Delta Controls (3535) and Ruskin (4532).

This year marks a milestone in the history of the Alliance since there will be three “world’s first” product announcements made at AHR. Spartan Peripheral Devices (3846) will be demonstrating ThermoPyla, the world’s first thermodynamic valve actuator. The ME8400 series actuator can be installed on Spartan’s complete range of devices and uses no wires and no batteries. Gas Sensing Solutions (3458) is launching its high speed NDIR Carbon Dioxide sensor. This innovative sensor has been incorporated into the world’s first wireless and batteryless CO2 sensor, offered by Ecologix (3764).

Furthermore, Titus (3764) has launched EOS, the world’s first self-powered air distribution vent. In-room light powers the air distribution vent and enables the airflow direction to be optimized, helping to save up to 30 percent heating or cooling energy.

Other notable announcements include Can2Go’s (3813) fully programmable, universal controller UN2, which provides seamless integration of both wired and wireless inputs and outputs, with BACnet IP systems. Beckhoff recently announced its new bi-directional EnOcean to TCP/IP gateway using EnOcean 315MHz for the North American market.

The EnOcean Alliance experienced a banner year in 2011, growing by 50 percent to 250 member companies collectively offering 800 interoperable building automation products and continues to nurture close partnerships with major building automation backbones such as BACnet, LONworks, KNX and TCP/IP, which has resulted in proven, collaborative building installations.

“EnOcean technology can now be found in over 200,000 buildings worldwide,” said EnOcean Alliance Chairman Graham Martin. “In addition to our traditional strong installation base in Europe, we are beginning to see a high level of activity in North America and huge interest from Japan and China, and we anticipate 2012 will be another exciting year for the Alliance and our members.”
