NEW DATA LOGGING COMBINATION ANEMOMETER/IR THERMOMETER IDEAL FOR LOW AIRFLOW MEASUREMENT

Measures Air Speed & Temperature, Surface Temperature; Calculates Airflow Volume

REFRINOTICIAS AL AIRE Edición Digital

The new and unique Data Logging Hot Wire Anemometer/IR Thermometer (CIH20DL) from General Tools & Instruments (General®) has no equal when it comes to measuring the speed, volume and temperature of slow-moving air. HVACR technicians and contractors will welcome its ability to: perform minimally invasive duct flow testing and energy audits, convert air speed readings to airflow volume measurements in units of CFM or CMM, and determine air and surface temperatures—including identifying overheated system components—all with a data logging capacity of 20,000 data points.

This professionalgrade handheld device can measure air movement as slow as 2 ft/min all the way up to 7,874 ft/min (20 mm/sec to 40 m/sec). Air speed readings can be displayed in any of five different units: ft/min, m/sec, mph, km/hr and knots. The CIH20DL also calculates airflow volumes up to 2.5 million CFM (72,000 CMM). Air temperatures from 32° to 158°F (0° to 70°C) are measured by a thermistor at the end of a telescoping probe that extends to 6 ft. (1.8m). Surface temperatures from -25° to 999°F
(-32° to 537°C) are measured by an integral infrared thermometer with an 8:1 distance-to-spot ratio.

The CIH20DL features a large backlit display with three simultaneous readouts: air speed or airflow volume; surface temperature and air temperature. The readouts default to real-time values, but users can opt to display maximum, minimum or average measurements. The unit can store and recall up to nine sets of these three readings in chronological order. It can data log—over long periods of time—up to 20,000 measurements/calculations of air speed, airflow volume, air temperature and surface temperature at a user-selected sampling interval of 5 seconds to 1 hour. These data logs can be uploaded to a Windows PC and displayed in Excel or converted to graphs or tables to easily identify trends or deviations in readings. The included software also provides a dashboard display that features a chart function for quickly viewing recent trends in air speed, air temperature and surface temperature values captured by the probe.

The CIH20DL comes in a custom molded plastic case together with a USB cable, an AC adapter and cable to enable long-term data logging, a 9-Volt Alkaline battery, a CD with Windows-compatible software and drivers, a Certificate of Traceable Calibration and a user’s manual.
