The California Air Resource Board (CARB) is a state agency responsible for protecting public health from air pollution. It affirms that products have passed specific performance and quality assurance tests. They have adopted a regulation to limit the amount of ozone emitted from indoor air cleaning devices in order to protect public health. All air cleaning devices sold in the California must meet the regulation requirements.

As a CARB approved electronic air cleaner, the Thermo King Air Purification solution has been independently reviewed and approved for sale in the state of California.

While CARB certification is important, here is a list of four other certifications that Thermo King has secured for this product.

UL 2998 certification
This procedure covers air cleaners which potentially generate ozone, are rated at 600 volts or less, are intended to remove or aid removal of dust, other particles, or pollutants from the air, and are intended for use in accordance with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.

UL-900 flammability
This is an evaluation of flammability and smoke density of air filter units. These requirements also cover media intended for assembly into air UL-900 flammability filter units.

EPA Registration
EPA Schedule N products are qualified for use against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). They are proven disinfectants for Coronavirus and the EPA expects all products on List N to kill all variants of SARS-CoV-2.

Environmental Rating IP44
This means a product is protected against solid objects that are bigger than 1mm and water splashing from all directions. This is because of our Purification Method GPCO – Graphene-Enhanced Photocatalytic Oxidation.
